I learned a few things, and I had lot more time on my hands... surprise surprise!

Here's what I learned.
I learned that time off social media is not the same as a digital detox.
Yes time off social media is really good for your mental well being, but... when you take time off social media there are still plenty of other things to do on your phone. Hello Pinterest and photo galleries.
My first few days off of social media were filled with scrolling through other outlets. That's not the point!
The point of breaking up with social media is to take a break from your phone. Cue only using your phone for communication.
Here is how it's done. You only use your phone for calling or texting...
It can be hard. You hear your phone ding, and you want to check it... but if you are taking a break from you phone, you shouldn't be checking it all the time. So turn off your notifications and turn up your ringer. If you are serious, let your friends know that you are taking some time off from your phone.

Here's what I did with all that free time.
I read. A lot.
I accomplished more on my to do list.
I was more present.
I moved my body more
I got more sleep.

Here is what I am suggesting...
We all make motherhood a tiny bit easier, by finding ways to separate from our phones a bit.
It doesn't have to be 30 days. It could be 30 minutes to an hour a day. Once you feel those benefits, you'll crave more.
You'll find yourself in a place you've desired.
